Virtual Coffee - A Few of My Favorite Things

It's time for some Virtual Coffee!
And you know what that means for me.
Diet Coke time.
YES.
If we were really together we would be enjoying some chocolate goodness.
I saw a recipe today and I just had to try it out tonight.
Are you ready?
Get yer feet set now.

Oh yes.
Mine didn't turn out awesome looking though.
Actually, the first words out of my mouth when I opened the oven and saw the lump of Oreo under an ooey, gooey mass of chocolate chip cookie was
"EPIC FAIL".
But.
Oh but.
Oh my word.
They are good.
So good.

For Virtual Coffee tonight I'm going to write a post with a list of a few of my favorite things.

Bare Minerals.
I love this makeup (I've been using it for 12 years now!) and I wear the foundation,
eye shadows, and Glee (above picture).
Glee is amazing.
It makes, by far, my favorite lipstick shade.
Here's what I do...
I outline my lips with a nude lip liner.
I put chapstick on.
Then I pat Glee on my lips and blend in.
It stays on FOREVER.
And it doesn't dry out my lips!
Love. This.

L'Oreal Double Extend Tubes.
Okay, here's the thing about my eyelashes.
They are stick straight.
Stick. Straight.
But long.
I've tried brands that would heavily weigh my lashes down to where they went back to straight
after I curled them.
I've tried brands that left me raccoon-eyed. Even the waterproof ones.
But this.
Oh this.
I don't have to curl my lashes anymore because they give my lashes a new look of fullness!
And they. do. not. smudge.
Not one bit.
This stuff creates a cone of mascara around each lash and it totally stays put all day.
When I'm ready to take my makeup off at night, I simply wet my lashes and gently pull.
The tubes pop off!
No more slimy, oily makeup remover!
Nice!

This is what I smell like.
Well, I have three perfumes that I wear.
One for everyday.
One for casual stuff.
One for dates.
This is my favorite.
So light.
Reminds me of my wedding day.

I couldn't find an image of my planner online but here is a link.
It's the Busy Body Book.
I have used planners since I was in high school and this is the only one that has ever given me everything I need.
With room to grow.
It keeps me organized.
Sane.
Happy.
Love this!

K. There you have it.
A few of my favorite things!

Craft Weekend - Mardi Gras Mask!

Happy Mardi Gras Weekend!
For family craft night this weekend we helped G make a Mardi Gras mask.
For all of our craft nights so far, G has wanted to be in the room.
Wanted to participate.
In his own way.
Tonight was different.
He was psyched!
One look at the glitter and he. was. ready.
I think he was looking forward to the glitter all day.
Something about spilling 1/2 a jar of glitter in Wal-Mart with Daddy.
Bah.
He really wanted to be hands on.
Hubs and I had a blast watching him really create for the first time.
Then of course, he dumped some glitter on the table and was a gonner.
He just absentmindedly swirled his fingers and feathers in the glitter for the rest of the craft.
Silly boy.
I, on the other hand, am really proud of myself.
I didn't mind the glitter that was flying everywhere.
On our clothes.
On our hands.
On the floor, the chairs, MY CAMERA.
Nope.
I was just in the moment.
Loving every single messy minute.
As always, Hubs really got into it.
I love that.
Nice.
After making the mask, Hubs just swirled some glue and glitter on a plate.
*gasp*
"It so beautbul, Daddy!"

Next week is going to be another long week.
Long hours at work & long hours in between seeing my boys.
Last week I missed this blog, I missed stalking my favorite blogs, I missed listening to my favorite music & eating well.
I'm going to work really hard this week at balancing my obligations and what fills my soul.

Happy Sunday!

A Lazy Day, A Gift, and Yogurt Breaks

Today was the first day in a long time that I was able to spend the entire day with my boys.
It was a lazy day spent at home.
Nothing planned.
It was wonderful.
Hubs went to the mailbox today and came home with this.
This awesome book was sent to me by a new friend and a photographer that I admire.
What a gift!
This bad boy will be going with me everywhere.
Thank you, Sarah!
I will treasure this always.
 G was in rare form.
Gave Hubs a run for his money all day.
Stinker.
I'm pretty sure we have a lefty on our hands.
Family Movie Night
Monsters Vs. Aliens
G loved it.
And he loved eating pizza on the couch.

Do you have to pause movies for yogurt breaks?
No?
Huh.
Today was good.
Tomorrow I go back to hitting it hard at work.
I miss my boys already.

Happy Saturday!

Night Night

It is 10:35am.
I am bathed and in bed.
I have a small soda and some Girl Scout Cookies.
And an entire day to sleep.

More on why I'm so psyched about this later but for now...

Night night.

She Works Hard For Her Money & A Recipe

Long time no blog!
Did I ever mention that I have a full time job?  The kind outside of being a mom?
I do.
And it has been keeping me very busy lately.
I've been away from this blog for several days now.
The verdict?
I missed it.
A lot.
I don't even know if many people read this little slice of Blogland but I've missed it.
So I'm back.
With a recipe!
Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting.
A-Yum.
So so so easy.
 So, here's what you'll need.
Yes, (for those of you who know how much I love to bake) I do bake with box mixes at times.
For shame.
:)
1 Stick of butter
4 Cups of confectioner's sugar
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
Milk
Creamy Peanut Butter
The oil and eggs in the picture?
For the brownies.
I love this brand. Good stuff.

So, you'll want to get out your mixer, AKA "too noisy", and mix 1 stick of room temperature butter with the whisk attachment.
Add 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract and mix again until creamy.
Add 4 cups confectioner's sugar 1 cup at a time, getting the consistancy creamy
between each cup addition.
After about the 3rd cup of sugar, you'll want to add some milk because your frosting will be quite dry.
Add a little dash of milk at a time while mixing so it becomes creamy again.
Too runny? Add more confectioner's sugar.
Too dry? Add more milk.
Easy.
That's your basic Buttercream Recipe.
What I love about this is you can build on this.
For these brownies I simply added tablespoon fulls of creamy peanut butter to taste.
Dude.
So good.
 See?

Happy Monday!

Decompression & Link Love

So, the short of it is that I called Hubs and asked if he could take over
G's bedtime routine when he got home from work so I could
escape to the bedroom and decompress.
Cut to Hubs coming home, saying the perfect, "Hon, I've got this. You go."
Hubs rocks my world.
Commence blog stalking.
I headed over to Shauna's blog. Totally what I needed!
I'm in.

Can you believe that this stuff is edible?!
I have to have this. I think I would have been a much less picky eater as a child if my mother would've put this on meatloaf and tomatoes.

For a long time my hair looked like this.
Maybe once I lose 30 pounds or so I'll cut it again.
I did like it like that.

I luuuuuurve this site.
I find so much inspiration here.
The colors, emotions, angles, locations...All right up my alley.

This blog always puts a smile on my face. So non-bloggy.
Like a good book, I can't put it down.

I love this sweater.
I'm a sucker for sweaters.

That's all for now. I really like this idea, Cherish!
It really makes me think about things that make me happy.
Things that fill me up.
Things that inspire me that I would want to share.
Thank you!

Head over to Cherish's blog for some more link love!

Puke, Laundry, and Blog Love

 Change of plans today.
I have a pukey little boy on my hands.
He seems better now, though.
Coloring.
Eating Goldfish with Ketchup.
Watching TV.
Destroying the house.
 I'm glad he's feeling better!
I've got work to do. A Mama's work is never done.
Oh. Wait. I can't do the laundry! There's a cat on the clothes.
That's from Hubs.
When I ask for his help with something and there is a cat in his lap his response is
always "I can't, babe. I have a cat on my lap". :)

It's kind of difficult day to fill up the soul.
It's dark.
It's cold.
It's rainy.
The freezy kind.
I'm feeling empty and overwhelmed.
I tried to fill up with a piece of chocolate cake.
Why - again - do I do that to myself?

Maybe you can help fill me up!
I would love for you to leave a comment with something happy.
A little sunshine and love from Blogland.
Would you do that for me?
Pretty please?

Happy Thursday!
